The Gender and Reproductive Health and Rights Resource and Advocacy Center is considered to be the only nationally specialized centre on training in the field of Reproductive Health and Gender together for target groups such as medical professionals, researchers and academicians from Sudan and the region. The training programs are designed to build a core of national and regional experts in the aforementioned fields. 1- Gender and Rights in Reproductive Health

This six days training based on the WHO modules, aimed to provide participants deep understanding with the concept of gender and rights in health. The training targeted the educators, health providers, researchers, civil society organizations and university students. This training provides a unique insight merging the two concepts together.

2- Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Emergency Settings

This six days multi-faceted training that addresses GBV in fragile contexts and humanitarian settings. The training package is a component of the GBV prevention and response regional strategy implementation plan developed by UNFPA-Arab States Regional office (ASRO). This inimitable program aims to prevent GBV   in such settings by building capacities and coordinate for multi-sectoral response through effective communication and adequate knowledge of the issue, targeted providers, researchers, civil society organizations.

3- Advanced Research Methods Training

This six days training aims to widen the scope and understanding of researchers on the different methodologies used on gender and reproductive health research and the steps involved in conducting an action research project; all within the universal ethical principles of public health research. This training targeted the postgraduates and professionals interested to pursue research in gender and reproductive health.

4- Communicating Research to Policy Makers in Health

    (Bridging the Gap between Research and Policy)

This six days training which is built on the training package developed by the Population Reference Bureau (PRB), aims to equip participants with skills to bridge the gaps between research findings and policy establishment and build national capacities for effective policy communication and health policy formulation. The training targets researchers working in the field of gender and RH.

6- Intergenerational Dialogue on FGM/C and Child Marriage for Trainers and Facilitators

Intergenerational Dialogue (ID) is a participatory method for ending FGM/C, and Child Marriage developed by the GIZ in 2000. It goes beyond IEC campaigns (information, education and communication) and aims for a concrete changes in behavior. This four days training aims to build a core of trainers/community facilitators who can train community facilitators on the technique of conducting ID in FGM/C and child marriage to empower the different generations to change their behavior and take actions. The training is targeting program managers, the heads’ of departments, project officers and their assistants from NGOs, CBOs and individual interested in working in the development sectors.

7- Result Based Management (RBM)

This four days training aims to provide participants skills in designing, implementing and monitoring and evaluating a program/project is done transparently and in a manner that ensures accountability with the essential skills that will help them in making better decisions throughout the program/project life. Since midwives play a significant documented role in mother and child health, GRACe offers a six days training for midwives to build their capacity in leadership skills and enhance their roles as active change agents in promoting maternal and child health.

9- Psychosocial Counseling for Fistula Survivors for Service Providers

This four days training aims to equipping participants with the appropriate tools and skills for psychosocial counseling/support and first aid for the affected women. The training is targeting health professionals, social workers and community caregivers who provide services for fistula patients/survivors.

10- Skill Based Training in Community Based Interventions for Combating FGM/C and Child Marriage

This six days training aims to enable the participants to become effective trainers and have all the essential skills to run FGM/C and child marriage combating programs effectively. Also, it provides an overview of the efforts against the practice in Sudan and the region and draws from these experiences in campaigning against FGM/C. The training is targeting advocates, activists and grass roots workers in the field of RH.

Behavior change communication (BCC) is an interactive process of any intervention with individuals, communities and/or societies (as integrated with an overall program). This four days training aims to provide participants skills to develop communication strategies to promote positive behaviors, and enable people to initiate, sustain and maintain positive and desirable behavior outcomes. The training targeted advocates, activists, researchers and grass roots workers in the field of RH.

12- Social Norm and Change Training

This four days training was designed to apply an innovative approach to abandon the harmful practices UNFPA manual, and provide the participants skills in using the social norms perspective, to guide the selection of an appropriate mix of strategies and activities that are most conducive to self-sustained social change. The training targeted the programs managers, coordinators and grass root workers who work in abandonment of the harmful practices.
